American Heritage – Prototype
Howard and Associates was hired to provide professional architectural services for the design of a prototype branch bank. The clients goal was to have a flexible designed residential style building with drive through lanes that could be built on different size sites. To accomplish this Howard and Associates designed the exterior building using a series of double columns with connecting arches running the length of the building.
Continuous horizontal glass windows were recessed into the exterior wall overlooking the colonnade. Tall sloped shingled roofs were used above the main building and the drive through lanes. The interior rooms of the building include a large open lobby surrounded by offices, conference, break room, work room, tellers, reception, waiting, vault and bathrooms.
Above the open lobby is a vaulted ceiling with decorative wood beams and lighting. Ceramic tiled flooring and wood trim were incorporated into the residential design. Colorful landscaping was integrated into the site layout.
