The Oklahoma Methodist Office Building is the headquarters of the Oklahoma Methodist Church. It is located on the grounds of Oklahoma City University.
H&A designed a new multipurpose building which includes a large reception lobby space, conference center, counseling offices, volunteer work areas, administrative offices, TV ministries and publication space. A separate connecting suite for the Bishop was integrated into the design.
The modern appearance of the exterior of the building continues into the interior of the building. The front entry side has a large covered plaza supported by a series of round columns, Large planting areas are under portions of the outdoor structure. A two story atrium lobby space design is articulated with large expanses of glass and geometric shaped angled walls.
The second floor corridors are designed to take advantage of the exterior glass views. A balcony overlooks an open staircase and lobby reception area. A colorful wall enhances the two story open meeting area and break room above.
The contemporary exterior shapes of the building are designed using geometric angles interwoven together to create a pleasing modern appearance. The front of the building has a large sloped standing seam metal roof overhang design with penetrations to allow for natural light into the planting areas below.
