Wickline United Methodist
Howard and Associates designed a new multi-purpose two story traditional style building addition to be used as a basketball/volleyball gym, contemporary worship service, banquets, dinners and other church functions. The building is designed to compliment the existing building architecture using matching red brick walls with horizontal wood siding and pitched shingle roofs.
On the first floor administrative offices were designed. The second floor included additional classrooms, game room, snack bar and lounge space. The multi-purpose room has large exposed wood columns and beams. The floor is stained concrete. A raised stage platform with dressing rooms on each side is located on the main side of the open room. On the second floor hallway adjacent to the classrooms is a continuous open balcony overlooking the multi-purpose room below. The existing fellowship hall was renovated and a folding wall separating the fellowship hall from the multi-purpose room was installed to give flexibility in the size and use of both rooms. A new elevator and gathering space were added.
Renovation work also included the music room, choir rooms, storage rooms and office meeting rooms. On the site a new building connection with an ADA ramp was built. A drive up canopy, additional parking and outdoor garden plaza were added.
